Sassenachs is an eight piece folk rock band from Dordrecht, Netherlands. In their Scottish kilts they introduce you to the rugged Scottish landscape where the music they play is anything but traditional. Once you hear the sound of the bagpipe and rhythms of the drums, it is impossible to sit still.
Dressed in 18th century plaids, armed with bagpipe and war-drums, Sassenachs have performed at nearly every festival in the Netherlands. The energy is felt by the public, especially during their field-arena shows. Without the confines of a stage, the acoustic drum and bagpipe ensemble will bring out the Scott in young and old. If you have not yet seen a performance of Sassenachs, you are in for a real treat! They are available for booking at festivals and venues in the Netherlands and abroad. We are excited to announce that 2019 will kick off the first year of their very own annual event in Zwijndrecht: Gaelic Festival
