Max Bianco is a singer-songwriter from Hartlepool, England (UK). Often compared to a modern day Woody Guthrie, he is a man of passion and spirit, which he shares in songs about life, loss and love. Max Bianco has taken a leap of faith to follow his path as solo artist. We warmly welcome Max to our My Music Matters-MT family.
For the past eight years, Max has been a member of The Jar Family (2010-2018), a collective of five front men singer-songwriters from the North East of England. "The band have created a vast array of carefully crafted songs of multiple genre and tempo from folk to indie rock", according to their biography.
Max is a troubadour in every sense of the word; with nowhere to go or be. "Life isn't about standard, its about broken glass and cigarettes," Max quipped in an interview. And so life has been for this rambler gambler traveler, who left home at the age of 14 with a guitar strapped on his back ready to take on the world. His adventures have always included making music and he has played in all kinds of bands with all kinds of musicians. Max creates modern contemporary folk music in true art form of folk legends: Woodie Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Harry Chapin, to name a few. With just enough kick of blues, funk and pop to make the sound appealing to multiple genres.
Singles: 'Northeast Bay' and 'H-Town Blues' were released May/2018 via Friendly Folk Records in May/2018. The worldwide digital release to be accompanied with two week tour of the Netherlands May 11-24,2018.
